Since the collection of IP statistics from national and regional IP offices is one of the main activities of the ESD, we believe that the proposed Workshop would provide a platform to establish and improve existing cooperation with national IP office officials who are responsible for maintaining and reporting their country’s IP data and provide, among other things, an opportunity to improve awareness of the importance of using IP statistics to make informed decisions, raise awareness of WIPO’s statistical activities, and take stock of IP statistics availability at national and regional offices located in Africa, specifically those of ARIPO Member States. |
