Description: |
WIPO, the Africa University (AU), and the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), are offering the tenth edition of the Joint Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property (MIP) at Africa University in Mutare, Zimbabwe, with assistance from the Government of Japan (approved memo is attached). After consultations among the partners, it has been agreed that WIPO will invite Mr. Masaharu Kizu (CV attached), a Japanese expert in the field of Patent Drafting, to give a lecture on the subject in the MIP program, from August 29 to September 1, 2017 (curriculum attached). The cost for inviting him will be covered by the Japan Funds-in-Trust for Africa and LDCs (FIT Japan). In addition to giving lectures at MIP in Mutare, he will also give lectures on a back-to-back event under FIT Japan, the WIPO Patent Drafting Course for Patent Agents from the ARIPO Member States and Observer States, at ARIPO headquarters in Harare, from September 4 to 8, 2017 (provisional program is attached). The cost for his participation will therefore be covered by both budgets for the two events. His travel expenses between Japan and Zimbabwe will be covered by the budget for the WIPO Patent Drafting Course at ARIPO, and only his DSA, and honorarium for the lectures at MIP Africa University will be covered by MIP budget under FIT Japan (cost estimate is attached). |
