The WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center offers alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services in collaboration with a number of Intellectual Property (IP) and Copyright Offices around the world.
Against this background, ILPO and the Center collaborate in the promotion of ADR for IP and technology disputes in Israel. Such collaboration includes joint events (e.g., in the past, a workshop on ADR for trademark disputes organized in Tel Aviv in December 2014), and promotional materials, including dedicated webpages (see http://www.justice.gov.il/En/Units/ILPO/Cooperation/Pages/Wipo-Mediation.aspx).
As part as this collaboration, ILPO and the Center will now organize a seminar on Effective Dispute Resolution in Research and Development. The program (draft attached) will include as speakers ILPO representatives, local IP and ADR lawyers, WIPO Neutral Jon Lang (United Kingdom), and myself.
The Seminar will attract local IP practitioners, in-house counsel and dispute resolution lawyers, mediators and arbitrators as well as ILPO staff.
The Seminar will provide training on WIPO mediation and arbitration in the context of R&D collaborations. Given the prominence of Israel’s R&D environment, this event offers serious potential for reaching out to prospective ADR users based in Israel. |
