This seminar continues the well-established collaboration with the European Liaison Office of the German Research Organisations (KOWI) and subsequently named associations and builds upon the inclusion of a WIPO dispute resolution clause in the DESCA 2020 Model Consortium Agreement for the European Union research funding program Horizon 2020. The WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center is partnering in this seminar with ASTP-Proton, EIRMA, LES-Benelux and the European IPR Helpdesk. Mr. Jon Lang and Mr. Harry Reinhard, who are WIPO neutrals and experienced mediation trainers, have agreed to act as instructors. Their honorarium and travel-related expenses will be covered by KOWI using the registration fees. WIPO neutral Mr. Michael Gross will present Fraunhofer’s WIPO mediation experience to illustrate the users’ perspective. It is proposed that WIPO covers the cost of Mr. Gross’ travel and accommodation.
The seminar is addressed to lawyers, business executives, patent and trademark attorneys, technology transfer professionals and others wishing to familiarize themselves with the mediation process and its application in the area of research and development and related commercial transactions.
The seminar presents opportunities to inform potential and actual users about WIPO mediation and serve to strengthen existing collaborative relationships with local stakeholders in the interest of promoting WIPO ADR. |
