Background
We refer to the letter of Mr. Bemanya Twebaze, Registrar General, Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) dated March 16, 2017(copy attached) requesting for a fact finding mission and a National Symposium on IP Education and Use of the IP System by Universities and Research and Development Institutions in Uganda.
The URSB requested that this activity takes place prior to the National Multi-Stakeholder Validation Workshop of the Draft National IP Policy and Strategy for Uganda, scheduled to take place on April 27 and 28, 2017, in Kampala, so that the outcome of the Symposium can feed into the final document of the National IP Policy and Strategy.
The activities are to be undertaken as follows:
- April 20 and 22, 2017 – Fact Finding mission to three or four selected universities within Kampala; and
- April 24 and 25, 2017 – National Symposium on IP Education and Use of the IP System by Universities and Research and Development Institutions. |
