Title: Sub-regional Seminar on Teaching Intellectual Property to the Youth
Description: Training of teachers in high-schools is one of the important activities for IP Offices. Given the lack of qualified personnel due to the novelty of the domain, and new focus by IP offices, a key goal of this Seminar will be to train the trainers, namely teachers attending the Seminar to potentially act as future trainers for their colleagues wishing to inculcate IP in the relevant curricula. Furthermore, the event will feature a special section where national authorities (ORDA, OSIM and Ministry of Education) as well as teachers attending the previous seminar on IP Teaching which was organized in 2015. The WIPO Academy's IP4Youth education plan
and international best practices will be discussed as a common platform for future curricula development and customization.
The notable initiatives from Romania, Moldova, Lithuania and Bulgaria: Education for Intellectual Property Rights (Curriculum for high-school) will be key areas of interest to the participants.
