In his letter of January 16, 2017 , Mr. Vladimir Vasilyev, Rector, Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO University) requested WIPO to support in organizing a Sub-regional seminar for Intellectual Property Policies at Universities and Research Institutions, St. Petersburg, Russia, March 15 and 16, 2017. The event aims at promoting the elaboration and implementation of IP policies at the universities and research institutions in the Russian Federation. In her email of January 16, 2017, Ms. Elena Bogdanova, Director, Institute International Business and Law, ITMO University, invited WIPO officials to conduct on March 17, 2017 bilateral consultations regarding the contribution of ITMO University to the development of National Project aiming at promotion of IP Policies for universities in the Russian Federation. In the same time, Mr. Vasilyev, Rector, ITMO University, is suggesting a consultation with him and academicians involved in IP management on March 18, 2017. In his email of January 18, 2017 (attached), Mr. Boris Korobets, Head, Scientific and Education Center IP Management and Innovative Entrepreneurship, Bauman Moscow State Technical University (MSTU), Moscow, proposed to have a one day working session with the Experts Group for the finalization the Project to support the development of IP policies for universities and research institutions, to be hosted in Bauman MSTU, back to back to, the planned event in St Petersburg, on March 20, 2017. Furthermore, it is planned for Mr. Svantner to have consultations with the Skolkovo Foundation, Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent), the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation from March 21 to 24, 2017. The objective of the event would be sharing successful stories and experiences in the implementation of IP policies at universities in neighboring countries |
