The Board meeting will include a one- day seminar on copyright matters of interest to broadcasting organizations include an extended awareness raising session on the WIPO broadcasting treaty negotiations. Despite the late request, this meeting is considered as a unique and very timely opportunity to raise support and coordinate positions from African broadcasters in advance of the 34th session of the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) due to take place from May 1 to 5, 2017. It is therefore proposed to accept the joint organization and to provide for the travel and accommodation expenses of delegates. Given the late notice and workload of the copyright division it is proposed to provide AUB with a lump sum amount of CHF 30 000 to arrange for travel and accommodation of participants. 50% will be paid up front and 50% at the end of the meeting upon presentation of receipts for each participant.
