In accordance with the mandate of the Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP), two sessions of the Committee are to be organized each year, therefore the nineteenth session of the CDIP will organized from May 15 to 19, 2017.
The Committee on Intellectual Property and Development (CDIP), at its eighteenth session adopted a decision (the Spanish proposal) relating to the External Review of the WIPO Technical Assistance in the Area of Cooperation for Development. The above-mentioned decision, inter alia, foresaw the organization of a one day Seminar on Technical Assistance and Capacity Building: Sharing Experiences, Tools and Methodologies on the margin of the nineteenth session of the CDIP. In order to seek certain elaboration with regards to the organization of the above-mentioned Seminar, two informal consultations were held with Group Coordinators plus two to three interested delegations. It was decided to hold a Roundtable (RT) instead of a Seminar on Friday May 12, 2017 preceding the week of CDIP19 |
