The objectives of the competition are to encourage and reward excellence in innovative solutions to problems encountered in daily life, especially solutions that utilize Appropriate Technologies (AT) and Appropriate Designs (AD), taking into account local factors such as culture, social environment, local availability of resources, local production methods and local needs. Final Workshop: The final workshop will be held on April, 2017 (tentatively) back-to-back with the final contest/award ceremony in which inventors, business representatives, and government officials will participate. The workshop will focus on issues involved in commercialization of AT. Three (3) local speakers will be invited to the final workshop. One WIPO official will participate, and one KIPO official will be invited, to both the final workshop and the final contest/award ceremony. WIPO will contribute to conference facilities (upon presentation of invoices) up to CHF2,000, and simultaneous interpretation up to CHF1,000 (upon presentation of invoices). |
