In his letter of August 25, 2016, Mr. Yuriy Boshytskyi, Rector, Kyiv University of Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, invited Mr. Svantner, Director, Department for Transition and Developed Countries, to participate in the Sixth International Scientific and Practical Conference on Contemporary Challenges and Issues of IP Law in Ukraine and Europe, to be held in Kyiv, on October 25 and 26, 2016.However, due to the busy work schedule, Mr. Svantner is unable to undertake a mission to Kyiv during the proposed dates.
In this regard, it is suggested that:
(i) Mr. Oleksandr Shevchenko undertake a mission to Kyiv on October 25 and 26, 2016, in order to attend the event, participate in the ceremonies of official opening and closing of the Conference, and make a presentation in Ukrainian on WIPO Recent Activities and its Role in the Development of National IP Systems in Countries in Transition;
This activity is expected to contribute to Expected Results III.2 Enhanced human resource capacities able to deal with the broad range of requirements for the effective use of IP for development in developing countries, LDCs and countries with economies in transition, Performance Indicator – % of trained IP professionals and IP Officials using upgraded skills in their work. |
