1) National Expert Group Meeting and National Multi-Stakeholders Forum, Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania, August 8 and 9, 2016 Following the launching of the Implementation of the WIPO Development Agenda Project on Transfer of Appropriate Technology in Dar es Salaam, in August 2015, progress has been made though not in accordance with the timeline envisaged in the approved project document. Identification of two need areas has been completed. Following the identification of the need areas there is a need on technological capacity building for the National Expert Group (NEG) and the National Multi-Stakeholders Group, and it is proposed to hold the two following meetings in Dar es Salaam, on August 8 and 9 2016. The National Expert Group Meeting, on August 8, 2016, will discuss the need areas and the finalization of the report with regard to the two need areas. The National Multi-stakeholders Forum, on August 9, 2016, will consider the report of the NEG to approve the two need areas. This meeting will also seek to address specific capacity building programs in technology search and skills development related to appropriate technology for the two need areas. 2) Meeting on Appropriate Technology: Access to Scientific and Technical Information for Technological Capacity Building: Meeting with the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST), Arusha, United Republic of Tanzania, August 11 and 12, 2016 The mission to Arusha will focus to address the request made by the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST), in their letter dated October 15, 2015 (copy attached). Accordingly a technological capacity building meeting will take place for two days in Arusha, on August 11 and 12, 2016.
