Description: |
The WIPO Center monitors a number of policy and operational files around ICANN. Primarily this concerns the above-mentioned RPMs and rights protection for IGO names and acronyms. In general, ICANN Meetings consist of a range of formal and informal working sessions inter alia with ICANN constituent groups including the Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC), Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO), Intellectual Property Constituency (IPC), ICANN Board of Directors, Legal Counsel and Policy Staff, as well as ICANN stakeholder group meetings covering inter alia, DNS related (Domain Name System) policy development and implementation. In particular, this ICANN Meeting features the first in-person meeting of ICANN’s Rights Protection Mechanisms (RPMs) in all gTLDs Policy Development Process Working Group, the mandate of which includes review of the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) administered by the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center, and of the Uniform Rapid Suspension System (URS), the Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH), and the Post-Delegation Dispute Resolution Procedure (PDDRP). |
