IMA International, based in Brighton (UK), is one of the leading providers of participatory and innovative training and consultancy for the international development sector. Over more than 30 years, they have trained over 15,000 development practitioners from NGOs, UN agencies, governments and the private sector across the world. Among the five-day training courses they propose this year, the sessions on Leadership and Management in Development and Theory of Change and Contribution Assessment (both attached) are relevant for the ASPAC Bureau. The first course trains new and experienced managers to become efficient and successful in the areas of managing a team, projects, programs, functional areas and relations with varied stakeholders and partners. The second course introduces the theory of change, to better understand how social change happens and provides innovative tools to assess the contribution to a change process, among other things, and enables participants to develop a theory of change and apply impact assessment. The two courses also explore how to facilitate multi-stakeholders processes and to critically reflect on the latest thinking around theories and apply into practice. Consequently and with a view to improving our program delivery while reinforcing ASPAC’s capacity at better managing and evaluating our programs for the Bureau and in the region, I propose Ms. Karen Lee Rata to attend the first course and Mrs. Armelle Le Theix the second course, which will provide them with enhanced knowledge, methodologies and techniques to improve the delivery of our program/activity and the follow-ups. This activity is reflected in ASPAC approved work plan for 2016, under ER III.2 Enhanced human resource capacities able to deal with the broad range of requirements for the effective use of IP for development in developing countries, LDCs and countries with economies in transition, Program Activity: “Post-event evaluation questionnaires/missions”, P1305. |
