Reference is made to the attached exchange of email with the Registrar’s office of Lesotho and the request received from the National University Library from Lesotho, to collaborate with them in raising awareness on the Marrakesh VIP treaty, in a one day workshop which will be held in Maseru on February 23, 2016.
In view of the late notice of the event while acknowledging the important objectives of this workshop to promote the ratification of the Marrakesh Treaty in the region, it is suggested to assist the authorities of Lesotho in the organization of this event, by supporting financially the participation of two speakers at the event under the following arrangements.
- 3 DSA’s plus Terminal Expenses for Participation of Mr Jace Nair and his accompanying person (Mr Nair is visually impaired). Mr Nair is the Chairperson of the Africa Marrakesh Campaign, of SA Disability Alliance; Mr Nair will arrive one day earlier of the event to have a meeting with his local counterparts: He will travel from South Africa by car at his own expense.
- Funding of Ms. Dora Makwinja, Director of the Copyright Society of Malawi.
Ms Makwinja will travel from Lilongwe.
A draft cost estimate is attached.
