Title: Workshop on the Madrid Protocol for Organisation africaine de la propriété intellectuelle (OAPI) accredited Trade Mark Agents
Description: As per the approved Africa Bureau Workplan for 2015 and following discussions with OAPI’s delegation during the last Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), it has been proposed to organize a Sensitization Seminar on the Madrid Protocol for accredited Trade Mark Agents with Organisation africaine de la propriété intellectuelle (OAPI) by the end of 2015.
This seminar intends to present the functionning of the Madrid Protocol to OAPI’s accredited Trade Marks Agents as well as to engage discussions with them on their role in the architecture of the system.
The objectives of the seminar are:
- To sensitize the participants on the Madrid Protocol procedures;
- To discuss the role Trade Marks agents should play in the Madrid System; and
- To engage an open and informed dialogue with Trade Marks Agents on the way forward
The seminar will be followed by a meeting with some identified potential users of the Madrid system in Cameroon to discuss the advantages of using the system (Local companies, Chamber of Commerce and Patronats).
