Title: Sub-Regional Meeting of Experts on Patents of Central American Countries and the Dominican Republic
Description: The main purpose of this Sub-Regional Meeting is to complete the update the Manual on the processing of patent applications, particularly: (i) in the presentation of a chapter related to the formulation of harmonized PCT applications processing;
(ii) in the presentation of annexes associated with the substantive examination of applications in specific areas of technology, such as the area of polymorphs and salts, and biotechnology; and (iii) in the update of the Manual regarding formal aspects related to the changes, in each country, concerning procedures, fees, requirements and legislation
This Meeting is of particular importance as it closes a stage of collaboration and allows identifying possible future actions for continuing supporting offices in capacity building for patent examination. Those actions would be adjusted to the particular requirements of the region and would contribute in the process
of the sub regional harmonization
