This memorandum seeks your approval to organize a inter-regional meeting to promote WIPO-administered treaties with focus on the Marrakesh Treaty with a view to a prompt ratification/accession by Portuguese-speaking countries. The proposed arrangements are as follows: 1. Title: Inter-Regional Meeting for Portuguese-Speaking Countries 2. Venue: Praia – Cabo Verde 3. Dates: June 15 to 19, 2015 4. Organizers: WIPO in cooperation with the Government of Cabo Verde, the World Blind Union (WBU) and the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Brazil 5. Program: Draft program under preparation 6. Participants invited by WIPO : Other than the host country (Cabo Verde), the heads of copyright offices of the following countries: Angola, Brazil, Equatorial Guinea, Guiné-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Principe (7). The president and a technical expert of blind associations from the participating countries listed above. 8.
