The Workshop is intended to introduce participants to the main principles and features of the International Treaties on copyright and related rights. It also aims to explain the role of WIPO in the worldwide protection of copyright and related rights, as well as recent developments and trends in the area of international copyright and related rights, to review practices, experiences and legal issues relating to copyright in a rapidly changing and globalizing environment, to identify the opportunities and challenges provided by new models of distributing information and creative content and to clarify to authors and creative industries how to protect their work, how to license and exploit it, and how to legally use the works of others. |
