I refer to the outcomes of the IT Management and Support Workshop held in San José, Costa Rica, on February 11 to 12, 2014 (please see the attached report of the meeting). One of the endorsed recommendations of that meeting was to hold a technical training workshop for Industrial Property Administration System (IPAS) administrators from Latin American Industrial Property Offices during 2014.
This initiative is part of an ongoing knowledge-transfer process and will mainly focus on building the technical skills of those local Information Technology (IT) experts who are supporting the WIPO supplied technical systems (IPAS, EDMS, WIPOScan and WIPO Publication Server) in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Region.
The IP Office of Costa Rica (Registro Nacional) has agreed to host the meeting and to provide meeting facilities and logistics.
The objectives of the workshop are to:
(i) build capacity and technical skills of IPAS focal points;
(ii) deepen the understanding of the systems provided by IPOBSD to facilitate local support and troubleshooting; and
(iii) share knowledge and experiences and promote a regional support network . |
