Description: |
IAEA is developing a series of activities focused on International Collaboration on Innovation in the nuclear sector. These activities include a new publication entitled Enhancing Collaboration in Innovations to Support Sustainable Nuclear Energy Systems and a Dialogue Forum International Collaboration on Innovations - Towards Global Sustainable Nuclear Energy planned for November 18 to 21, 2014. In a message addressed to Mr. Svantner (attached), Mr. Alexey Kazennov, Consultant, INPRO Section, Division of Nuclear Power, IAEA, requested WIPO to participate in the next consultancy meeting to take place in Vienna, June 11 to 13, 2014. The objective of this consultancy meeting will be to prepare the Dialogue Forum, which will feature, as one of its four topics, Intellectual Property Management Within Collaboration on Innovations. WIPO has a longstanding record of collaboration with IAEA in areas such as licensing, transfer of technology and IPR management in research institutions. Since 2008, IAEA has benefitted from the assistance of Ms. Spasic, Head, Innovation Structures Section, through IPR management and licensing trainings of National Nuclear Institutes, in Europe and Asia in particular. The recently established Section for the Coordination of Developed Countries (SCDC) is focused on bringing the WIPO services and activities to the attention of a broader audience of stakeholders in developed countries. It seeks to work through WIPO counterparts in the Government and, through and with them, with industry, professionals and other stakeholders. As the activities of the Section start to develop in areas such as the Roving Seminars on WIPO Services and Initiatives, it appears important to increase the consultation with the key Governments and stakeholders concerned. The IAEA events offer a good occasion to interact with nuclear research centers, companies, universities, Governments and other potential users of WIPO services. |
