Reference is made to the approved memorandum of November 8, 2013 (copy attached) on the Multi-Stakeholders Meeting on the Preparation of National Innovation and Intellectual Property (IP) Policy and Strategy for Bangladesh, scheduled to take place in Dhaka, on December 18 and 19, 2013. Reference is also made to memorandum of December 13, 2013 concerning the postponement of the above mentioned meeting.
Following necessary consultation with the Department of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, Ministry of Industries, Government of Bangladesh, it is proposed to organize the meeting on June 16 and 17, 2014 in Dhaka. It is also proposed to undertake consultations on June 18, 2014 on the implementation of Appropriate Technology Project for Bangladesh. These activities are contained in the Division’s work plan. While the rescheduling of the Multi-Stakeholders Meeting will not incur additional cost, the expenses for the Appropriate Technology Meeting will be estimated at 3,436.00 Swiss Francs, revised cost attached.
Both meetings are financed from LDCs budget (0035-P1229 and P1248). Organizing both meetings back to back is cost saving related to per-diem and transport expenses, as well as efficient utilization of expertise. |
