Ms. Irene Vieira, director general of the Bureau lvoirien du Droit d'auteur has requested to undertake consultations with the copyright law division and the copyright infrastructure division in view of the final amendments to be provided to the revision of the copyright law.
It is proposed to respond positively to this request as there is currently a political momentum in Cote d'lvoire for the ratification of the Beijing Treaty and of the Marrakesh Treaty, prompted by the successful meeting for ECOWAS countries held in December 2013 in
Abidjan. In addition Ms. Vieira has asked to consult with Mr. Uwemedimo with respect to the road map agreed between the Director General of WI PO and the Minister of Culture Bandaman on the restructuration of the collective management organization in Cote d'lvoire.
It is proposed to have these consultations between April 29 and May 1, in Geneva. Ms Vieira will also benfit from various side events organized during that week relating to the ratification of the Marrakesh VIP Treaty. |
