Title: International Symposium on Contemporary Issues in Collective Copyright Management for Developing Countries and Countries with Economies in Transition
Description: A request has been received from the US Copyright Office, inviting WIPO to join hands in organizing an International Symposium on Contemporary Issues in Collective Copyright Management for Developing Countries and Countries with Economies in Transition in the Library of Congress on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. from May 12 to 16, 2014.
The program would include emerging issues in copyright and related rights with a particular focus on collective management of rights, as well as discussions on ways to develop and sustain collective management organizations. There will also be several panels devoted to WIPO's TAG of Excellence (Transparency, Accountability and Good Governance) Initiative. In addition, special emphasis is also placed on promoting the Marrakesh and Beijing Treaties at this international symposium.
