Title: (1) WIPO Follow-up Workshop on Geographical Indications and Branding for CARICOM Countries; and (2) WIPO Workshop on the use of IP as a Tool for Developing Nation Branding Strategies
Description: (1) ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA - WIPO Follow-up Workshop on Geographical Indications and Branding for CARICOM Countries: : to provide follow up and further training to participants not only on the use of GIs and other forms of IP for added value to nationally/locally produced goods, but also in branding origin linked products in the region; the activity also aims to provide assistance to countries in the implementation of the IP provisions of the CARIFORUM-EU, Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA); and
(2) JAMAICA - WIPO Workshop on the use of IP as a Tool for Developing Nation Branding Strategies: to provide a core platform for optimizing synergies for leveraging intellectual property in the nation branding process by building upon the initiatives of Jamaica Intellectual Property Office (JIPO) and Jamaica Investment and Promotion Corporation (JAMPRO) in the area, and for linking key stakeholders and aligning their strategies to the overarching nation branding strategy, so as to drive forward a coherent strategy for Jamaica. A meeting on Branding Jamaica and the leveraging of IP has been convened with the Honorable Prime Minister of Jamaica on June 6, 2014
