Description: |
In order to ensure that such a sharing of experiences takes place effectively, we planned to hold an additional but smaller and less formal meeting in the course of 2011. We would invite one representative from the national industrial property offices and from the competition authorities from Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia to speak about concrete instances in which they had to deal with the interface between intellectual property and antitrust. The Brazilian Minisrtry of Foreign Affairs would invite the Brazilian counterparts: the three national agencies dealing with antitrust enforcement and consumer protection, the national industrial property office and the Institute of Economic Applied research, which is elaborating one of our studies (on sham litigation). The meeting will not be open to the public, so that government officials feel confident to speak more openly about challenges faced and solutions found. |
