The purpose of this travel is to attend the annual meeting of the University Contact Group (UCG) of the International Annual Meeting on language Arrangements, Documentation and Publications (IAMLADP) to be held on the premises of the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium on April 5 and 6, 2017.
The UCG acts as a liaison point between the international organizations and training providers and promotes information exchange between the two constituencies. Following discussions during the IAMLAPD meeting held in Geneva in 2015 concerning the PCT fellowship programme and the on-going efforts within the Division to train translators,
Mr. Phillips and I were invited to become members of the UCG and we have been promoting our training opportunities through this avenue since then.
The annual meeting this year will focus on university outreach and the potential to link research capacity in universities with international organizations. Areas for common training opportunities will also be discussed. |
