In the letter of July 14, 2016 H.E. Mr. Vladimir Makei, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, and Mr. Christian Friis Bach, Under-Secretary-General, United Nations, and Executive Secretary, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), invited WIPO to participate in the International Conference Laying the Foundation in the UNECE Region for Economic Integration and Sustainable Development Towards 2030, to be jointly organized by the Government of the Republic of Belarus and UNECE, in Minsk, on October 26 and 27, 2016.
In this regard, it is suggested that Mr. Evgeniy Sesitsky, Program Officer, Section for Caucasian, Central Asian and Eastern European Countries, TDC, undertake a mission to Minsk on October 26 and 27, 2016, in order to attend the above mentioned event, participate in the opening and closing sessions and Thematic Panel 4 Investment and Innovation: Making Change Happen (contribute to discussions and present WIPO’s recent activities and its role in the development of IP and innovation systems in countries in transition). |
