On February 18, 2019, the International Bar Association (IBA) invited WIPO to participate in the IBA Annual Conference taking place in Seoul on September 23 to 27, and more particulaly to delegate a speaker to participate as a panelist in ‘the many faces of online infringement’ session which will be held on September 24. By a letter dated March 4, 2019, signed by the Director General, WIPO answered positively to this invitation, indicating that a BRIP staff will participate in this IBA Annual Conference to present ‘Building Respect for Intellectual Property with Particular Regard to the Digital Market’. Following on this exchange between the IBA and WIPO, it is suggested that Ms. Van Greunen, Director, Building Respect for IP Division (BRIP), participates in the panel discussion.
Taking advantage of the IBA Annual Conference in Seoul, it is also suggested to conduct in the same week, in Seoul, the following activities:
1. A meeting on September 24, 2019, with the Korea Copyright Commission (KCC).
2. A meeting on September 25, 2019, with the Korea Copyright Protection Agency (KCOPA).
3. On September 26, 2019, a WIPO-Korean Ministry of Justice (KMoJ) Meeting; and
4. On September 27, 2019, a Sub-Regional Workshop on the Enforcement of IP Rights . |
