To mark this occasion, SMEs and Entrepreneurship Support Division (SESD) proposed to organize a roundtable discussion, MSME and Intellectual Property (memo attached). The purpose of this event is to learn about the major constraints and challenges SMEs are facing in contemporary knowledge and experience based economy, especially in regard to innovation, technology management and intellectual property (IP).
The Roundtable discussion is aimed to increase cooperation, among the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the other UN organizations working with SMEs namely, International Trade Center (ITC), World Trade Organization (WTO), United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva (UNIDO), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property, to contribute in enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs (program attached).
WIPO’s Regional Bureaus, and respective Units/Sectors, are kindly invited to participate and contribute to the discussion. |
