Description: In the e-mail communication dated February 20, 2019 (copy attached), Ms. Miriam Dechant, Director, Global Intellectual Property Academy (GIPA), United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), confirmed arrangements with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to co-sponsor and co-organize a Workshop on Technology Transfer and Management of Government Intellectual Property, Alexandria, Virginia, United States of America (USA), from July 23 to 26, 2019.
Increase expertise in managing intellectual property created via government-funded research. Raise awareness on the value of intellectual property for governments, show the approach taken by some governments on this subject, and encourage to the handling of IP from government -funded research that will take into account the value of this portfolio to Member States.
