Co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, CIFTIS is a state-level, international and comprehensive fair for trade in services. WIPO has been participating in the CIFTIS since 2015 by organizing the International Forums for Time-honored Brand Protection and on the Promotion of IP Protection to the Film and TV Industry respectively in 2016 and 2018.
Considering the important role of intellectual property as an intangible asset for the trade in service, and for the purpose of implementing the MoU between WIPO and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, it is proposed that the WIPO Office in China (WOC) and the Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office (BJIPO) jointly organize an International Forum on Intellectual Property Helping Service Industry Going Global for Development in the 2019 CIFTIS, in the afternoon of May 28, 2019. |
