(1) The objectives of the Consultation Meetings are to meet with the senior management and relevant officials from the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP), Ministry of Commerce, and the Department of IP (DIP), Ministry of Industry and Handicraft as well as stakeholders concerned to: (i) review the mandate, legal and institutional framework for administration of intellectual property rights in comparison with best practices at the international level; (ii) discuss a range of options for optimal institutional, legal and management framework; (iii) gather information on the two DIPs’ existing human resources, infrastructure, systems and financial management regime; and (iv) share the initial findings with the senior management of two DIPs and explore the possible next steps.
(2) The objectives of the Consultation Meetings are to meet with ministers and senior representatives from relevant ministries, government agencies and stakeholder groups to: (i) identify new priority areas and initiatives under the National IP Strategy that are consistent on the current policy orientations and development policies of the Government of Cambodia; and (ii) discuss the implementation status of the National IP Strategy and to explore cooperation projects and activities for the next few years for implementation.
