Thirteenth Annual Meeting of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) |

The meeting is convened by the Secretary-General of the UN and will be hosted by the Government of France and UNESCO, under the theme Internet of Trust.
For the IFG 2018 meeting, it is proposed that WIPO co-organize an Open Forum session with the European Broadcasting Organization (EBU) and UNESCO on the topic of How to enable local production and local contents. The session will discuss how multilateral organizations can help in creating an enabling environment necessary for the production and distribution of local content as part of our on-going collaboration on this topic. It is proposed to fund the third party travel of a speaker from a developing country.
WIPO's contribution in the forum will focus on highlighting the role of copyright as a critical enable of sustainable local content industries. |
