In reference to the attached approved Memo for a World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) speaker (Ms. Hill) to participate in the National Conference on Intellectual Property in Digital Economy for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), to be held on October 24 and 25, 2018, in Bucharest, the approval for the participation of two international and regional experts is hereby requested. As per the attached Draft Program, Mr. David Greenspan, Visiting Lecturer, School of Law, Santa Clara University, San Jose, California, United States of America, and Mr. Andrea Rizzi, recently Head of Digital Business, Osborne Clarke, Milan, Italy, both have been identified to speak during the two-day conference. Both will make three presentations each and participate actively throughout the conference in selected sessions. Please find attached brief resumes of both proposed speakers. Mr. Greenspan has worked with WIPO on several occasions on intellectual property and interactive entertainment (recently in Argentina on the same subject) and is the author of the WIPO publication “Mastering the Game: Business and Legal Issues for Video Game Developers”. This publication is one of the most viewed WIPO publications on the WIPO webpages and has recently been translated into Russian. Mr. Rizzi, having worked as in-house counsel in major video game companies and recently heading the law firm Osborne Clarke’s digital business sector, is highly placed in providing expert lectures on IP and transaction contracts, as well as providing current industry relevant information most pertinent for SMEs. It is proposed to fund the participation of these two speakers, especially as the topics on IP and entrepreneurship for SMEs is critical for countries with skilled labor such as Romania. |
