Information Event for Sindhri Mango Geographical Indication |
| Description: |
The purpose of holding these events is to raise the
awareness of national authorities, producers groups and other interested stakeholders about the protection of GIs in Pakistan and challenges faced by local producers of Sindhri Mango GI that has been recently registered. The national coordinator from IPO Pakistan will present the GI protection system in Pakistan. The national consultants will present their findings from the initial study carried out in context of the DA project. Discussions will address strategies for the future and the steps which need to be taken to strengthen the collective management of Sindhri Mango GI.
In addition, a field visit will be undertaken to promote
exchanges of information between consultants and the producers about the specificities of the product and promote collective use of Sindhri Mango GI. |
