Description: |
The importance of AI is growing, and IP offices can leverage AI tools to perform searches for
patents, trademarks, and design examinations, conduct formality checks for applications, and
assist in translations. However, IP offices are facing challenges in building AI capacity. This
is despite the fact that implementing AI systems has become more straightforward than it
used to be.
The introductory workshop and mentoring program aim to sensitize the relevant actors in IP
offices to AI tools and encourage them to build pilot AI systems as a starting point for building
AI capacity (Concept Note attached). The Philippine office was the first office to express
interest in the activity. Thereafter, the Thai office has also expressed its interest. More
countries may follow.
