Title: Sub-regional Workshop on the Enforcement of IP Rights for Customs Officials, Police Investigators and Prosecutors
Description: In line with the 2024 workplans of the Building Respect for IP Division (BRIP Division), the Regional Division for Latin America and the Caribbean (DLAC) and the Funds-in-trust Japan Industrial Property Global (FIT/Japan IP Global) and guided by Expected Results 2.3 of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Recommendation 45 of the WIPO Development Agenda, the objectives of the Workshop are:  to instill in the participants the value of protecting and enforcing IP rights for the social, economic and cultural development of the participating countries;  to provide training on IP remedies and enforcement measures, with a particular focus on the work of police investigators, prosecutors and customs officials;  to discuss topical issues in the area of IP enforcement and building respect for IP; and  to discuss strategies for effective national and transnational cooperation to enforce IP rights and build respect for IP.
