Mr. Gantchev has been appointed to represent WIPO in the work of the Expert Group on the revision of the UNESCO framework for cultural statistics.
The expert group is composed of 20 people,
representing international organizations, governments, academic institutions and renowned experts. Since 2023 the expert group has had several meetings online. A final meeting is scheduled to take place in Montreal on October 28-30, 2024.
The purpose of the meeting will be to review all submissions made and agree on the document to be proposed for adoption. WIPO’s contribution in this process is crucial as it will enable the insertion of intellectual property elements in the framework. WIPO’s interest is to have as many IP related elements as possible, as it will help us in collecting data on the creative industries in all countries, applying the UNESCO framework. |
