The study will examine the present state of business in the Fashion Design Industry (FDI) in selected African countries with special emphasis on the challenges, opportunities and constraints confronting this sector. It will also appraise the extent to which the IP system is well understood and used in association with relevant marketing and merchandising techniques to leverage the protection of local and indigenous creativity and enhance the competitiveness and commercialization of Africa’s creative fashion design goods and products (clothing, apparel, furnishing interior designs) in domestic and global export market.
