In the framework of the Regional Patent Administration for the Caribbean Countries and the Cooperation Agreement entered into force in January 2003, and the resolutions of the WIPO Ministerial Meeting in 2009, there has been strong support for a regional patent administration. Two studies have been carried out and active discussions and consultations have taken place. In order to maintain the high momentum of the process, assist in finalizing national consultations and build regional consensus on emerging issues with respect to the establishment of a Regional Patent Administration, it is proposed that a consultant be hired.
