Description: The objectives of the Course, within the framework of Strategic Goal VI of WIPO, are: - to discuss various issues relating to building respect for IP and IP enforcement, such as alternate models to address counterfeiting and piracy, and the disposal and destruction of infringing goods; - to consider the minimum standards and flexibilities contained in Part III of the TRIPS Agreement, including recent case-law developments; - to examine the motivation, elements, investigation and prosecution of IP crimes and infringements, including sentencing and proportionality; - to analyze the role of the various stakeholders in the interest of strategic and effective cooperation.
