Training on Trademark Examination |
Description: |
The Brunei IP Office (BruIPO) made a request to WIPO to provide training on trademark examination in the first quarter of 2014. It may be recalled here that since 2012, Brunei Darussalam has undergone major transformation of its IP system and has seen the transfer of IP administration from the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) to BruIPO. This transfer of IP registries has been done progressively in the last two years with the aim to improve the administration of IP rights and the value-added services by BruIPO to the user community in Brunei Darussalam. The trademark registry was the last one to be transferred from AGC to BruIPO and it became effective on January 1, 2014. Following this transfer, BruIPO would like to train its newly recruited trademark examiners so as to enhance the operations of the Trademark Registry.
