WIPO and INAPI Collaborate to Enhance IP Management, IP Commercialization and Technology Transfer in Chile

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Instituto Nacional de la Propiedad Industrial (INAPI) have successfully organized a national training seminar on Intellectual Property (IP) Management, IP Commercialization and Technology Transfer. The event, which aimed to enhance the skills and capacity of the national Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) network staff in Chile, has concluded with positive outcomes.

This training seminar was part of WIPO's ongoing efforts to support the development of innovation ecosystems and strengthen TISCs' skills and capacity. By equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills in IP management and technology transfer, the aim was to create an environment conducive to innovation and economic growth in Chile.

The seminar welcomed the participation of TISC managers from Valparaíso, Maule, Araucanía, and Magallanes, along with attendees from the Technology Transfer Hubs and other key actors from the innovation ecosystem. This diverse group of participants added valuable perspectives and contributed to the dynamic exchange of knowledge and experiences throughout the event.

The WIPO representative was Mr. Alejandro Roca Campagna, Senior Director of the WIPO’s IP for Innovators Department (IPID). Among other experts, there were Mark Wilson, consultant at Strategic Technologies bioconsulting firm, UK, and Michael Mbogoro, managing consultant at Oxentia Ltd, Oxford, UK, who gave insightful presentations on various aspects of technology transfer and intellectual property commercialization. The expertise of experts enriched the discussion and contributed to the success of the event.

The successful implementation of the training seminar represents a significant step forward in achieving the goals of the TISC network in Chile. It not only facilitated the professional development of participants but also strengthened TISCs' ability to effectively support and guide technology and innovation-driven companies.
