Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) and the Access to Specialized Patent Information (ASPI) program, administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in cooperation with six patent database system providers, have been featured in a recent article in the World Intellectual Property Review. The article "Minesoft: Bridging the Digital Divide" highlights the importance of access to patent information as a means for overcoming barriers to innovation in developing countries. Thanks to ASPI, over 100 developing countries can access commercial patent database systems, with powerful search and analysis features, for free or at very low cost.
