Message from WIPO Director General Daren Tang on the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples

The special theme of this year’s International Day focuses on the “Role of Indigenous Women in the Preservation and Transmission of Traditional Knowledge”.

“This role cannot be overstated. Indigenous women are key to the development, preservation and transmission of traditional livelihoods”, said Mr. Tang.

In his message, WIPO Director General Daren Tang underlines that Indigenous Peoples are important stakeholders in WIPO’s vision of a more inclusive global intellectual property ecosystem.
