Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure

Notification of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Relating to a Change in the Fees Charged by the National Collections of Industrial and Marine Bacteria Ltd (NCIMB) and to a Clarification of the Name and the Address of that International Depositary Authority

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the receipt, on December 12, 1988, of a written notification, dated December 9, 1988, from the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland informing that there is a change in the fees charged by the National Collections of Industrial and Marine Bacteria Ltd (NCIMB), an international depositary authority under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, done at Budapest on April 28, 1977, as amended on September 26, 1980, which was the subject of Budapest Notifications Nos. 24, 29, 41, 53, 60, 67 and 71. The said Government also states that the full and correct name and address of the said international depositary authority are the following: "National Collections of Industrial and Marine Bacteria Ltd (NCIMB), PO Box 31, 135 Abbey Road, Aberdeen AB9 8DG, Scotland, United Kingdom." The text of that notification is attached.

The fees set forth in the said notification will apply as from the thirtieth day following the date (January 31, 1989) of the publication of the said fees in the January 1989 issue of Industrial Property/La Propriété industrielle, that is, as from March 2, 1989 (see Rule 12.2(c) of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty). The said fees will replace the fees as published in the February 1988 issue of Industrial Property/La Propriété industrielle (see Budapest Notification No. 67 of February 8, 1988).

NOTIFICATION

I have the honour to refer to the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, opened for signature at Budapest from 28 April to 31 December 1977, and to the communication dated 31 March 1982 from the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland nominating the National Collections of Industrial and Marine Bacteria Ltd (NCIMB) as an International Depositary Authority.

In accordance with Rule 12.2 of the Regulations under the Treaty, the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland hereby notify you that the fees charged by the National Collections of Industrial and Marine Bacteria Ltd will be as follows, from the earliest date, in regard to the items indicated:

The fees are payable to NCIMB Ltd and are subject to Value Added Tax where applicable. The full and correct name and address of the Authority is the National Collections of Industrial and Marine Bacteria Ltd (NCIMB), PO Box 31, 135 Abbey Road, Aberdeen AB9 8DG, Scotland, United Kingdom.
