Register for the Global Challenges Seminar: Driving MedTech Innovation Ecosystems in LDCs

Join us on October 1, 2024, for a global challenges seminar on driving Medical Technology (MedTech) innovation ecosystems in Least Developed Countries (LDCs), hosted by WIPO, in cooperation with the UN Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries, and Medtronic. The seminar will take place on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 14:00 to 16:20 CET at WIPO headquarters in Geneva.

WIPO, the UN Technology Bank, and Medtronic have come together to conduct a forthcoming study exploring the current state of MedTech innovation and access in LDCs. Multiple aspects of the MedTech ecosystem were examined, including MedTech innovation culture and capacity, relationship with the intellectual property (IP) system, regulatory pathways, financing opportunities and policies that can foster MedTech innovation and access in LDCs.

The event will discuss the enablers of, and barriers to, MedTech innovation and access in LDCs based on case studies from Bangladesh and Rwanda. The event can be attended in person or online.

This Global Challenges Seminar aims to foster dialogue that will inform policy decisions and drive action to enhance livelihoods and health outcomes in LDCs and developing countries.

Following the seminar, a reception will provide an opportunity for networking and further discussion.
