Hague System: Declarations from new Hague Member, Belarus

Following the deposit of its instrument of accession to the 1999 Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement on April 19, 2021, the Government of Belarus has made the following declarations:

Duration of protection International registrations are renewable twice, guaranteeing up to 15 years of protection of designs in Belarus. Article 17(3)(c)
Direct filing only Designers and businesses in Belarus must file their international applications directly with WIPO. Indirect filing through the Belarus IP Office is not possible. Article 4(1)(b)
Deferment of publication Deferment of publication of international designs is not possible. Applicants can choose standard or immediate publication. Article 11(1)(b)
Designation fees Level two of the standard designation fee applies. Rule 12(1)(c)(i)
The 1999 Act will enter into force in Belarus on July 19, 2021, bringing the total number of countries covered by the Hague System to 92.
