WIPO has released the latest edition of the Hague Yearly Review providing comprehensive facts and figures on, and analysis of, the use of the Hague System in 2023.
Key figures…
After experiencing double-digit growth in 2021 and 2022, the demand for design protection showed a modest increase of 1.3% in 2023. Applicants based in Europe accounted for 60.2% of all designs filed worldwide. Following the recent accession of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea to the Hague System, the proportion of designs originating from Asia has increased significantly, from 3.9% in 2013 to 28% in 2023.
